Depending upon the type of prostate cancer different treatments are prescribed by doctors and physicians. In case of slow growth active surveillance or watchful monitoring is the usual recommendation. Meanwhile with respect to aggressive growth there are other methods deployed:
Immunotherapy- As the name suggest immunotherapy works with your body’s immune system to help it fight the cancer or it can be used to control the side effects from other cancer treatments. Chemotherapy- A cocktail of special drugs is utilized to either shrink or kill the cancer cells. Hormonal therapy- By blocking the hormones required by cancer cells for growth, it mitigates the size and cells completely Surgery-In some cases the doctors remove the prostate and surrounding tissue using surgical procedures. Radiation therapy- High energy radiation is used to kill the cancer outright. Last but not the least Cryotherapy- In this case a special probe is placed inside or near the prostate cancer thereby it freezes and kills the cancer cells
