Kidney Transplant

When a kidney failure occurs there are two sets of treatment- dialysis and kidney transplant. Depending upon severity of disease, age, quality of life, sustainability and numerous other factors one can opt for any of the aforesaid treatment. In case of kidney transplant a healthy kidney from a living or deceased donor is placed into a person whose kidneys no longer function properly using surgical procedure. After the medical and psychological evaluation the recipient immune is suppressed to an extent that patient can accept donor kidney.

In general your infected kidney is not removed from body unless and until a medical necessity occurs rather the external kidney irrespective of living or cadaver donor is connected and placed in the lower abdomen along with the existing pair of kidney
