Heart Transplant
In simple terms the heart transplant is a surgery to remove diseased heart and replace it with a healthy one from a recently deceased organ donor. Heart transplant is performed on patient with end-stage or severe heart failure where medical or other surgical treatments are ineffective and failed which includes diseases with the likes of coronary heart disease- obstruction of blood flow in a coronary artery by a blood clot or fatty substances cardiomyopathy- heart muscles or heart walls are impacted congenital heart disease- there are many forms of congenital heart disease that affect normal working of heart- ventricle defect, valve obstruction or leakage etc After the donor organ is matched with recipient blood type and body size with fulfillment of waiting list heart transplant occurs.
