Blood Cancer Treatment
Treatment for blood cancer is highly variable in nature depending upon the growth of cancer. For slow-growing leukemia active monitoring without cancer-directed standard therapy is recommended by doctors. For aggressive leukemia the treatment includes chemotherapy (uses anticancer drugs to interfere with and stop the growth of cancer cells in the body) that's sometimes followed by radiation therapy (uses X-rays or other high-energy beams to damage cancer cells) and stem-cell transplant or bone marrow transplantation (patient receives healthy blood forming cells to replace damaged blood forming -stem cells).
